Joe Killian

Joe Killian began his maritime career as a commercial fisherman in 1980 and earned his first captain’s license in 1984. By 1985, he had launched his yachting career in Cape May, taking the helm of a 60-foot Riva Corsaro motor yacht. Over the years, Joe built an impressive portfolio operating a wide variety of vessels—from sportfishing boats and luxury motor yachts to ferries and offshore and inland tugs. His expertise extended to ship-handling large commercial vessels as a tug and docking master in the ports of Philadelphia and Baltimore.

With more than 15 years of hands-on experience at sea, including several years as a marine surveyor, Joe transitioned full-time into luxury yacht and ship brokerage in 1995. He has represented several renowned yacht brands as a dealer and worked with leading international brokerage firms. Joe and his wife, Rose, went on to found their own brokerage, which they successfully operated for 22 years.

Today, Joe is an internationally recognized yacht broker, consultant, and trusted expert. His deep experience, technical knowledge, and unwavering commitment to excellence continue to serve clients through his work with the entire HMY Yachts team.
